look what's new at missyblue! [Jun. 1st, 2006|09:08 am]

There are some new additions to the shop at missyblue, just in time for summer!

There are three new totes that have been added to the shop.
A series of what I call the "runner" bags
because they're made from thrifted vintage table runners. The 3 bags, savana, hobo and cross stitch, range in price from $24-30.
They are all roomy and adorable!

There is also the new Belted Tote.
The focal point of this great bag is the vintage belt accent. It's made from a dusty blue cotton with a nice outer pocket trimmed in burgundy. Lined in white cotton with a big roomy pocket inside. It's a steal for only $34!

The current featured items are the Layla handbag and the Layla pouch. Fashioned from lovely butter soft faux suede in shades of salmon and olive green, these are gorgeous additions the shop!

Another new handbag, entitled Purple Rain has also been added.
It's made from a remnant piece of Marc Jacobs mohair in a lovely deep lavender with a light lavender dupioni silk flap lining and strap. It's all yours for only $46!

spring [Apr. 9th, 2006|04:43 pm]
is there anything better than spring day in michigan? except, of course, for the way it makes your allergies act up. weather-wise, this weekend couldn't have been much better. did i accomplish anything outside, however? no.
work was very difficult and emotional this week and i needed some rest and relaxation and quiet time to myself in my house that i love so much. i often forget how much i love my house, until little things happen that remind me.
anyway, the goals for the coming week are---a little update for the site (2 diaper bags and 3 handbags done), make easter baskets and sew some new bags for the hair salon where i get my hair cut.
has anyone signed up for that craftlance website that mymy posted? i did. it seems like a great idea.

Spring!!! [Mar. 20th, 2006|12:21 pm]
Spring has arrived, tra la la! It's still a little nippy, but I'll take the sunshine with the cold anytime.
I highly recommend "Walk the Line", it was great. I love Johnny Cash anyway, and his music. What a love story they had, he and June. And Joaquin Phoenix---*sigh*
Gotta love Netflix, thanks, Melissa!! I put this in the mail today and Wednesday I'll receive "Capote"; since it comes out tomorrow, I reserved it last week. Things to do when you get home at 1 in the morning.....

Woman's Day [Mar. 9th, 2006|01:18 pm]
Yesterday was Woman's Day, a holiday observed in Eastern Europe. It's like their Mother's Day. We have a lot of Eastern European women where I work, so the owners bought all the ladies a carnation. I thought that was really nice. They do nice things like that all the time. The work itself has been hard the last couple weeks, but the bosses are great people to work for. Things are finally picking up, so most of the people who were laid off are being called back. So I'm sure it's about to get even crazier than it has been. But at least maybe we'll have enough people to do the work. I haven't done much more than work and sleep the last couple weeks. I've been very non-productive and non-motivated at home. Things are slow with the site, so I have no movitation at all there. Hope it picks up soon.
I hope to get enough time to start adding photos and what not here. Since I'm not good at it, I need lots of quiet time and focus when I do it. Look for some soon!!

Lots of stuff today..... [Mar. 7th, 2006|01:55 pm]
......feeling sad about Dana Reeve. Their son is 13 and has lost both of his parents within a year. She took care of Christopher Reeve for so long--an amazing woman.

Goodbye, Edgar--we will miss you. I can't believe they wrote him off. Lots of surprises last night. An excellent 2 hours, which I watched when I got home from work at 1:30 a.m. So guess who slept in too late this morning?

The Oscars were pretty good. Shout out to Three 6 Mafia!! I love that song and the movie was great. Now the song has been in my head since Sunday night. When things are bad at work, which has been constantly, I keep that song in my head and it helps......

Charlize Theron--no. She's usually stylin', wtf? Everyone else was ok, nothing spectacular, nothing stands out. Jessica Alba is annoying, why was she there? George Clooney, Joaquin Phoenix---hotties. That's all I can think of right now.

Gotta get ready to go back to hell, I mean work.

tv update [Feb. 21st, 2006|01:36 pm]
The Housewives were awesome, as usual. I'm doing a tribute to them soon. A bag for those naps on the lawn....
McSteamy is right, that is one good looking plastic surgeon, huh? What a choice, McSteamy or McDreamy......
Lynn McGill, please go back to Middle Earth where you belong, you Hobbitt, you. And take that McCreepy President with you. David Palmer RULES!!! I wish he could be the real President.

Trying.... [Feb. 18th, 2006|09:01 pm]
....to get used to writing here. I keep forgetting about it. I need to put it in the memory bank of things I do every day while I'm on the machine.
I have so many new things that I want to make and no time to make them. Pesky real jobs....dumb bills that have to be paid.....oh to have nothing but time to do what you want to do, not just what needs to be done. These two day weekends are just not long enough, I need four.
As soon as I'm not too scared to practice my code writing, I will put pictures and other cool stuff in here. For now, I'm still a-scared.
